The Tale of Ramadan: A Lesson on Integrity and Ethics

In a rural village, there lived a man named Ramadan, who used to bring milk from the village and sell it in the city. Initially, he started by collecting milk from the villagers, gradually amassing a considerable sum, until he acquired his own herd of buffaloes.

One day, while on his way to the city with his load of milk, Ramadan met an elderly man. The wise elder advised him, “Son, remember, milk is a divine blessing from Allah. Tainting it with adulteration or injecting harmful substances into your buffaloes would not only be a breach of trust but also endanger the health of innocent children. Their delicate stomachs are vulnerable, and any defect caused at this stage will follow them into adulthood.”

He began to dilute the pure milk from his village with water, selling it at higher prices, disregarding any moral qualms. Even when he had amassed substantial wealth, his appetite for dishonesty did not wane. He started resorting to even more deceptive methods, mixing water from nearby streams or ditches when no one was watching.

Consequences Unveiled

The repercussions of Ramadan’s actions were revealed when a family in the city fell ill. Seth, the head of the household, took his son to the doctor, only to discover that the child had developed an infection due to contaminated milk. The doctor inquired about their diet, and Seth mentioned that they primarily consumed the village’s milk. Alarmed, the doctor suspected foul play and conducted a thorough examination of the milk.
